{"id":14,"date":"2021-03-04T19:01:55","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T19:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/macblog.mcmaster.ca\/dasc-study\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2021-03-04T19:01:55","modified_gmt":"2021-03-04T19:01:55","slug":"project-leader","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/macblog.mcmaster.ca\/dasc-study\/project-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hi,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My name is <a href=\"https:\/\/socialsciences.mcmaster.ca\/people\/evely-beinean\">Bei Evely<\/a> and I am doing a research project for my MA thesis, supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/socialsciences.mcmaster.ca\/people\/badone-ellen\">Dr Ellen Badone<\/a>, in Anthropology at McMaster University. I am looking at the effects of care received by autistic people in therapy. I want to consider what it means to receive \u2018good care\u2019 when undergoing therapies. In particular, I focus on therapies centered on behaviour modification and psychology of autistic people seeking or in treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will present findings of this research in the form of graphic novel-style drawings as well as a written thesis. This study will look at mental health care services provided to autistic people in Canada and the United States. In this case, I am looking for the perspectives of autistic people themselves.
