{"id":16048,"date":"2010-09-03T00:00:34","date_gmt":"2010-09-03T04:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fryeblog.blog.lib.mcmaster.ca\/?p=16048"},"modified":"2010-09-03T00:00:34","modified_gmt":"2010-09-03T04:00:34","slug":"william-wordsworth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/macblog.mcmaster.ca\/fryeblog\/2010\/09\/03\/william-wordsworth\/","title":{"rendered":"William Wordsworth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>httpv:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BmZiViGUsNs&amp;feature=related<\/p>\n<p><em>The poem recited<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On this date Wordsworth wrote the sonnet &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Composed_upon_Westminster_Bridge,_September_3,_1802\" target=\"_blank\">Composed upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802<\/a>&#8220;:<\/p>\n<p>Earth hath not anything to show more fair:<br \/>\nDull would he be of soul who could pass by<br \/>\nA sight so touching in its majesty:<br \/>\nThis City now doth, like a garment, wear<br \/>\nThe beauty of the morning; silent, bare,<br \/>\nShips, towers, domes, theatres and temples lie<br \/>\nOpen unto the fields, and to the sky;<br \/>\nAll bright and glittering in the smokeless air.<\/p>\n<p>Never did sun more beautifully steep<br \/>\nIn his first splendor, valley, rock, or hill;<br \/>\nNe&#8217;er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!<br \/>\nThe river glideth at his own sweet will:<br \/>\nDear God!
