Glossary

As the debate around forced labour and modern slavery evolves, the lexicon will inevitably grow, and terminology will become more complex. There are already a number of terms used by scholars, politicians, and social actors that require careful consideration if the various dimensions of governance and regulation are to be properly understood.

This glossary is meant to operationally define some of the key terms used in the modern slavery debate. It is organized alphabetically, and all definitions are available for download. As the debate evolves, new terms will be added.
