Grad Panel – Monday, April 5th, 12:30-2:20pm

The annual grad panel features alumni from the iSci program – this year, we will have several breakout rooms divided based on career options (professional schools, graduate school, industry).

Life Design Workshop with Dr. Ana Campos – Tuesday, April 6th, 11:30-12:20pm

Let’s think about some of those big questions: Are you picking your career for the right reasons? How do we define success? Are there some dysfunctional beliefs that you’ve been taught that are holding you back from finding happiness in your future? Dr. Campos will explore some strategies to help you get comfortable with trying new things, experiencing failures, and building healthy plans for pursuing your goals.

iSNL – Wednesday, April 7th, 7:00-9:00pm

The annual iSNL event will be hosted by the iSci Society. Expect to smile at least once or twice and maybe forget about some of your exam stress for these two hours!

LinkedIn & “How to sell yourself” workshop with Jared Kunar – Thursday, April 8th, 12:30-1:20pm

Jared Kunar is a Career Development & Relationship Manager at the McMaster Faculty of Science SCCE Office. He will be running a workshop to help students learn some strategies for marketing themselves as they progress with their careers.

Fitness Session with Dr. Maureen MacDonald – Monday, April 12th, 9:30-10:20am

Here are some details about the session from Dr. MacDonald:

  • It will be approximately 30 minutes long (including warm up, cool down and stretching)
  • No equipment is required (feel free to bring small hand weights if you have them) and a matt or carpet will make you more comfortable for some exercises.
  • If you have a bike, treadmill or stairclimber at home you are welcome to use that during the class instead of the exercises I demonstrate.
  • You will need a space to do both standing exercise and exercises on the floor (sit ups and pushups etc).
  • You can leave your camera on or off, whatever keeps you comfortable.
  • Feel free to wear McMaster themed clothing!
  • The music is chosen by me but I do take requests.
  • Dancing between exercises is encouraged but not required.
  • Classes are interval based and modifications are provided for all fitness levels and abilities.

We will be doing Marty Gibala’s 11 minute workout.  with some additional warm up, and upper body and core work.  See details below.
