For Walk Across Canada 2026, each cohort will travel 1000 km in a race toward McMaster University. You can contribute to your cohort\u2019s travel distance by walking, running, biking, or swimming and logging those kilometres on Strava, starting on March 30th and ending April 7th. There will be 4 checkpoints per cohort, including your starting location, all of which are places visited by current iSci students<\/strong>! We will be posting daily leaderboard updates on the @iscisynthesis Instagram stories and here on the website. This is also where you can find an updated map of each cohort\u2019s progress with respect to their checkpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, we will be running events for Walk Across Canada where you can gain bonus kilometres, so stay tuned for details and make sure to attend! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow along each day of the conference as we update each cohort\u2019s path towards Mac and highlight key checkpoints along the way, each with a unique stories and pictures from current iScis, demonstrating how travel and diversity truly allows us to flourish! This week, whenever you plan to walk, run, bike or swim, be sure to log your kilometres on Strava to contribute towards your cohort\u2019s (and your own!) success. The top cohort will be recognized at closing ceremonies, and rewarded with a pizza party and their name on our coveted iStudy banner. We’ll also have special prizes for the top performing individuals overall, and by type of activity. We are looking forward to the journey and hope to see everyone being active and evolving for Walk Across Canada!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
