By creating an opportunity to engage in interactive programming and networking sessions, we hope to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange&nbsp;concerning library instruction&nbsp;in Ontario.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McMaster University, where the&nbsp;mini-conference&nbsp;will be held, is situated on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe nations. The territory was the subject of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. It is in this same spirit of peaceful sharing among&nbsp;our local region that we wish to come together to better support one another in our journeys as teachers and learners.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are seeking&nbsp;presentations on topics relating to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Budgetary pressures and \u201cdoing more with less\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Misinformation,&nbsp;disinformation,&nbsp;and artificial intelligence&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Career changes and stages&nbsp;(e.g.&nbsp;early career&nbsp;librarianship, precarious employment,&nbsp;getting&nbsp;managerial&nbsp;or&nbsp;supervisory&nbsp;experience)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How to engage with students&nbsp;in this current political moment&nbsp;(e.g.&nbsp;motivating&nbsp;attendance, analog learning)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Triumphs or failures to learn from, novel programs and approaches to instruction, and\/or questions to reframe our thinking in our approach to library instruction&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Session types include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>panels&nbsp;(max.&nbsp;4&nbsp;panelists&nbsp;total;&nbsp;30&nbsp;minute&nbsp;panel with 15 minutes for questions)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>presentations&nbsp;(15 minutes with 5 minutes for questions)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>lightning talks (5-7 minute&nbsp;talk) &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please submit proposals&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>February 27, 2026<\/strong>.&nbsp;If you have any questions about your submission or the conference, please contact&nbsp;the conference co-chairs, Katie Harding (<a href=\"mailto:kharding@mcmaster.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kharding@mcmaster.ca<\/a>) and Jo-Anne Petropoulos (<a href=\"mailto:petroja@mcmaster.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">petroja@mcmaster.ca<\/a>).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Teaching &amp; Learning Mini Conference Planning Committee&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/8duYthAgUA\"><mark style=\"background-color:#7a003c\" class=\"has-inline-color has-base-color\">Proposal submissions form is now closed.
