Teach us about it.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Possible topics include:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Design: <\/strong>instructional design, designing experiences, designing assessment, designing learning spaces, by design, designing online learning experiences, curriculum planning, universal design<\/p>\n<p><strong>Play: <\/strong>games, gaming, active learning, play in large classes, motivation, interest, fun, humour, play with (new) technology, playing with learning management systems, play with clickers<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learn: <\/strong> learn from our mistakes, learn from others (students, faculty, colleagues), learning theories, learning styles<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Session Types<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Conference Presentation<\/strong><br \/>\n45-minute sessions that include a 30-minute presentation and 15-minute discussion or question period. We encourage submissions that include an active learning component and that are grounded in formal research or applied practice. Presentations are intended for an audience of 30-70 participants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lightning Strike Session<\/strong><br \/>\n7-minute mini-presentations on any topic related to information literacy or library instruction. PowerPoint is optional! Lightning strike presentations are intended for an audience of approximately 200 participants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carnival Booth *NEW*<\/strong><br \/>\nStep right up!  Come and be amazed and astounded! In keeping with our theme of &#8220;Design Play Learn&#8221;, we will be holding a WILU 2010 carnival!  The carnival will consist of approximately 10 booths that feature barkers (aka presenters) eager to showcase their best ideas from the past year.<\/p>\n<p>The booths should be experiential, fun and interactive and can be set up with or without technology. Booths might feature games, new technologies or learning objects, videos, etc. Dare to captivate your audience with impressive feats of strength and impossible acts of mysticism (or information literacy and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153prestidigitization\u00e2\u20ac\u009d)!<\/p>\n<p>A laptop can be made available for each booth, however, a limited number of data projectors are available.  We recommend that barkers bring their own equipment if possible or consider low-tech alternatives.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Submission Information<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please submit proposals by <strong>December 15, 2009 <\/strong>through the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/spreadsheets.google.com\/viewform?hl=en&amp;formkey=dF9qQlBCSkZlVm5va1J0MnFRTWNoVFE6MA\">online submission form<\/a>. <\/strong>The primary contact on the proposal will be notified as to whether the proposal has been accepted for presentation by January 31, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Questions?
