aghAccess 2008 opens at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Meet and greet your colleagues in Ontario’s third largest public art gallery. The Art Gallery of Hamilton was founded in 1914 and owns one of the finest collections of art in Canada, featuring over 9,000 works of art including historical European, historical Canadian and contemporary art. Enjoy a casual reception with hors d’oeuvres in one of Hamilton’s most attractive venues.

If Techies Could Fly

Games, food and fun in a unique Canadian historic setting. The Canadian Warplane Heritage gamingMuseum is a living museum featuring the aircraft used by Canadians or Canada’s Military from the beginning of World War II up to the present. Climb into the cockpit of a real WWII trainer or a real jet fighter, the Avro CF-100. Try out the flight combat simulators, test your flight skills, and show off your mad skillz at Wii Guitar Hero, and Dance Dance Revolution. All the fun happens in the museum’s huge airplane hangar.

Cost: $50.00; includes transportation, dinner, all games and Museum admission.

Friday, Oct. 3, 7:00 pm – the night is young
Hess Village pub crawl

hessAccess 2008 brings back the pub crawl! Hess Village is just around the corner from the Sheraton and is the most hoppin’ bar district in Hamilton. Pubs, dance clubs and great little places to hang out, they’re all in one short cobblestone block. Start the night off with dinner and drink at Koi, and then move on to Sizzle, the Lazy Flamingo and the Blue Martini – keep movin’ or stay put at your favourite spot. When you’re ready to call it a night, you’ve only got that short walk back to the hotel.

Cost: free with conference registration; includes dinner and one drink at Koi; cash bars at other locations.

Saturday, Oct. 4, 1:45 pm – 7:15 pm
Niagara Falls and Wine Tour

Staying in town until Sunday? Check out Niagara Falls and one of Ontario’s finest wineries on winethis  afternoon excursion. The tour starts with lunch and a tour at Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery. Next it’s on to a visit to Table Rock and a ride on the famous Maid of the Mist. You’ll also have a chance to stroll and shop in Niagara Falls before you come back to Hamilton.

Cost: $65.00 per person. Price includes transportation, lunch and Maid of the Mist admission.
